What types of preference shares can an issuer offer?

An issuer can offer several types of preference shares, including:

  • Redeemable Preference Shares (RPS): Shares that can be redeemed by the issuer after a specific period.
  • Redeemable Convertible Preference Shares (RCPS): Shares that can either be redeemed or converted into ordinary shares after a specific period.
  • Irredeemable Convertible Preference Shares (ICPS): Shares that can only be converted into ordinary shares and cannot be redeemed.
  • Redeemable Cumulative Convertible Preference Shares (RCCPS): Shares that allow for cumulative dividends and can either be redeemed or converted into ordinary shares.
